Sanctuary

Considered holy ground and the site of a healer's college, Sanctuary is a safe haven that the Adelan government has no authority over and, as such, it offers sanctuary and free healing to anyone who steps inside. Violence is, understandably, prohibited.

It's a beautiful, sprawling place, one of order imposed over chaos with its haphazard, patchwork design that blends ancient architecture with new buildings and nature with man-made structures. A number of broken columns decorate the entrance and a low wall circles the area, with trees and shrubs bordering the inside to offer privacy. Further inside there are spacious gardens and gazebos where people may pray and teachers hold classes, and more ruins and broken columns can be found throughout the area, as well as fountains, old and new, and ponds with foot-bridges. Further inside there are newer buildings, connected together by breezeways and arches, and even further inside lie more gardens and, at the very center, the Sanctuary's shrine and the oldest part of the site.

The shrine is the ancient remains of an enormous dragon and consists of a skull, a few ribs, and one raised wing that creates a canopy, all grown over with ivy with a spring bubbling down out of rocks that were deposited there by a glacier long ago.
